For the Pizza Dough

  • 1½ cups bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet of Fleischmann's® RapidRise® Instant Yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water (120° to 130°F)

For the Toppings

  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 10 pepperoni slices, cut into hearts (see note)


  1. In a large bowl, mix together the bread flour, sugar, salt, and Fleischmann's® RapidRise® Instant Yeast.
  2. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the warm water. Using your hands, mix everything together until it forms a dough. The dough will be sticky, but don’t worry, it will come together once you knead it!

  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead the dough for 5 minutes or until the texture of the dough starts to smooth out. (If the dough feels too sticky, add an additional ¼ cup flour, a tablespoon at a time, until the dough is dry enough to work with.) Form the dough into a ball and place into a greased bowl. Cover loosely with a dish cloth and put in a warm place to rise for 30 minutes.
  5. After 30 minutes, turn the dough out onto a clean work surface. You can do this on a piece of parchment paper for easy clean up and transport. Stretch out dough into a 12-inch round and place on pizza stone or baking sheet. Using your hands, form the heart shape by bringing the bottom of the dough into a point and creating an indent in the top of the circle to form a heart.
  6. Top with sauce, cheese, and the heart-shaped pepperoni. Bake at 450° F for 10 to 15 minutes! Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and eating!

Cutting the pepperoni slices into hearts is easy! Take the sliced pepperoni round and fold it in half. From the bottom, use a pair of kitchen scissors to cut at the folded edge to make a point and then move your scissors out to the edge, curving at the top to make the heart shape.
