  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 (2-1/4 tsp.) envelope Fleischmann’s® RapidRise® Instant Yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
  • 3/4 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 1-1/4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons shortening

  1. Combine 2 cups flour, undissolved yeast, sugar, salt, parsley, rosemary and thyme in a large bowl. Heat water and shortening to very warm (120° to 130°F). Add to flour mixture. Beat for 30 seconds with electric mixer to combine. Increase speed to medium-high and beat for 2 minutes.
  2. Stir in remaining 1 cup flour to make a stiff batter. Spoon into greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Cover and let rise 40 to 50 minutes or until doubled.
  3. Bake at 375°F for 40 to 45 minutes or until done. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
  4. Recipe Tip: Substitute 2 teaspoons Spice Islands® Parsley Flakes, 1/2 teaspoon Spice Islands® Rosemary and 1/4 teaspoon Spice Islands® Thyme for the fresh herbs.
