- 1/2 cup warm water (100° to 110°F)
- 2 (4-1/2 tsp.) envelopes Fleischmann's® Active Dry Yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk (100° to 110°F)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon butter OR margarine, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
- 4-3/4 to 5-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries, drained
- 1/2 cup chopped slivered almonds, toasted
- Almond Glaze
- 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 to 3 tablespoons milk
