Fleischmann’s® Yeast is proud to be involved in the communities where it operates. As a general rule, we support causes that aim to improve the bread of life. This includes feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless and strengthening families. Charitable giving includes food banks, homeless shelters, affordable housing initiatives, hospitals and health-related organizations. Below are some of the organizations that the company supports:

LaSalle (Montreal), Quebec, Canada

  • Centraide du Grand Montréal Centraide du Grand Montréal promotes voluntary and social involvement, develops community action and builds caring communities. About 500,000 needy people in Greater Montreal are helped through the agencies and projects supported by Centraide. Their vision is to develop ties between all the components of our society — community agencies, businesses, institutions, people who receive help, donors, etc. —to transform Greater Montreal into a caring environment where the less fortunate can live in dignity.
  • La Société de Saint-Vincent de Paul La Société de Saint-Vincent de Paul provides counseling, food, clothing and furniture to any person living in a difficult situation that requires specific support. Today, in Greater Montreal, nearly 2,000 volunteers work each day in nearly 150 locations to assist the neediest in the community.
  • Opérations Enfant Soleil Opérations Enfant Soleil raises funds to push the boundaries of pediatric care. Funds support innovative research, teaching, technology and state-of-the-art medical care. This organization is a large network of volunteers, collaborators and caring partners who assist the sick children of Quebec.
  • AGIR Ste-Justine AGIR Ste-Justine is a volunteer organization committed to helping children with kidney disease. The organization focuses on funding innovative research, providing education and support, promoting access to high quality healthcare and increasing public awareness and commitment to advancing kidney health and organ donation.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada

  • Alexandra Centre Alexandra Centre, under the direction of the Alexandra Centre Society, hosts a number of community services and programs, including a day care and writers’ group.

Memphis, Tennessee, United States

  • America's Second Harvest The Food Bank serves 309 charitable feeding programs in 31 Mid-South counties, The Food Bank fights hunger by efficiently collecting and distributing wholesome food, while educating the community about the problem of hunger and advocating on behalf of hungry people. The Food Bank is a member of America's Second Harvest- The Nations Food Bank Network and the Safety Net Collaborative.
  • Memphis Union Mission Memphis Union Mission ministers to the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of men, women and children who are homeless, addicted, and in crisis
  • Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing in the city of Memphis and surrounding areas, and to making decent housing for all people a matter of conscience and action. Habitat works in partnership with families in need of adequate shelter to build simple, decent homes.

Greenville, Texas, United States

  • Women In Need Women In Need Operates a 24-hour shelter for battered women and their children. Non residential services include counseling, legal advocacy, and limited financial assistance.

Chesterfield (St. Louis), Missouri, United States

  • The Griffin Center The Griffin Center is a non-profit organization that provides after school educational support; summer day camps; and violence prevention training and advocacy for low-income individual children and families in the school system, public aid system and specialized housing social and health systems.

Fleischmann’s Yeast encourages employees to become involved in their local communities. The company encourages employees to donate to worthy organizations, and helps facilitate this act of giving by making donation activities as part of the corporate culture.
